Lukas Parkow - Anni

Anni is a work about loss, caring, and new horizons. It explores a lost history, something that has been forgotten among shame, trauma and a search for a better life. My sound work Anni is part of a larger work of mine called Inkerinmaa. Inkerinmaa or Ingria is a big geographical area home to Ingrians among others. Today Ingrians are scattered and their language is close to extinction. Anni never got to experience her new life. The work became a way to honor and care for her, imagining a life that never got to be experienced.
